Can you believe it; we are already in the month of November 2018! It’s time to start preparing for 2019 and the trends that come with it. If you have been putting off your bathroom renovation for a while now, then 2019 is your year to shine. If you’re in need of some new style inspiration, the best way to go is by looking at what is currently trending and what will be trending for the future. With the new year approaching quickly, planning is key for bathroom renovations and makes the process smooth sailing for when it comes to the installation. It isn’t new that bathrooms in the last decade or so have developed their roots and are designed into luxurious retreats where we can escape everyday life.  So keep reading to find out how you can accomplish this and see what is trending in 2019!

Patterned tiles are easily one of the biggest trends coming into the new year for bathrooms. Nowadays you can choose from a huge variety of designs and patterns that will best suit your bathroom, but most importantly suit the statement piece that is your vanity. Our vanities are designed to be easily styled with tiles in your bathroom and will create that trendy flair you’re looking for. Terrazzo is making a comeback within bathrooms, they bring a bright personality to the space and create a unique and classic look with low maintenance. Also trending are large scale tiles, they work perfectly with other materials such as marble, cement and timbers! Think retro and large scale florals in bright tones, baby pink is the colour of the new year and it offers a light contrast to the traditional neutrals.

Natural Materials

Trending in 2019 is the contrast between raw materials and dramatic marble within bathrooms. Materials like wood and marble both create that elegant and clean décor style within a space. Our McQueen vanity is a classic, freestanding vanity, sourced and manufactured from pure timber veneer. It features a stunning, natural solid stone top in marble. You can’t go wrong with this vanity, it’s raw materials contrasted with a marble statement top will look amazing in a beach bathroom renovation and will stay trendy for years to come.

With sunnier days approaching, a hot and steamy bathroom is the perfect place to set up your house plants! The moister in the air formed by your showers and baths helps them flourish, they also provide natural colour in your bathroom and contrast well with cool tiles and ceramic features. Plants have their own characteristics and needs, it’s important to find the right spot for them and to always ensure that the plant has the right amount of sunlight, either direct or indirect. A hint of colour especially this time of year will create a unique statement in your bathroom while still looking fresh and clean.

At Vanity by Design we have chosen two of our vanities that we think will most likely be trending in 2019! Wall hung vanities were very popular on this year’s season of The Block, so we have chosen our Lauren vanity to trend for the wall hung vanities. The Lauren vanity is a classic, wall hung vanity, sourced and manufactured from solid sustainable timber and features a stunning Carrara marble top, with a marble splashback and ceramic under-mount basin. It’s the perfect vanity that includes decent storage draws and cupboards for your bathroom, and by adding taps, tiles and lighting, it will all come together to form a functional and fabulous space.

The second vanity is the Sophia vanity, a freestanding vanity designed for that Hamptons style living. The Hamptons collection exudes sophistication while retaining an understated elegance. Within a crisp, modern colour palette, the design of the Sophia has been draw upon coastal lifestyle influences which offers resort luxury within any home.  It has already been a huge hit with customers this year and we believe it will continue to be popular in the future.
