This last month has been a very exciting month for the VBD team! We have not only become an official supporter for one of our fav charities but we have also changed our sample packaging bags which are now compostable! Keep reading to find out more about our sustainable journey...
Take 3 for the Sea
Environmental awareness is at the core of our company, Vanity by Design, and trickles down into our shipping, materials, and products. With every decision, every action we consciously think about our own impact on the earth. As a company with the ability to empower positive change, we aim to help maintain and sustain green practises anywhere possible.
This past month we were extremely excited to announce we have partnered with Take 3 for the Sea as an official supporter. Take 3 inspires participation in simple actions that reduce the impacts of plastic pollution and waste in the ocean.
Take 3 pieces of rubbish with you when you leave the beach, waterway or… anywhere, and you have made a difference.
Everyday our vanities sail across the ocean and dock on your doorsteps. Our ocean faces constant problems due to plastic pollution which is killing not only our wildlife but our planet. Therefore, we are taking our FIRST step towards making a positive change by partnering with Take 3.
From September 2021, we will donate a percentage of our sales to Take 3 for the Sea.
At Vanity by Design, packaging is one part of our business that we can’t do without, but what we can do is start to make sure our packaging has less of an impact on the environment. We are extremely excited to announce we have partnered with Hero Packaging for our new sample packaging!
All our postage bags are now compostable, zero-waste padded mailers. If you don’t have a compost bin, think about setting one up!
It's as easy as...
The Hero Packaging mailers are made from mostly plant-based materials such as PLA (consists of renewable raw materials and is biodegradable) and a certified compostable material called PBAT (polybutyrate adipate terephthalate).
Want to know how to properly compost our mailer bags?
All you need to do is tear apart the external and internal layers, rip up the compostable bubble film and paper and put them into your home compost bin (and yes, the bubble wrap is compostable!)
You can shop our samples here!
Let’s maintain and sustain our planet together. Be shore (pun intended!) to check out Take 3 for the Sea as well as Hero Packaging and join us to protect our planet!
