Introducing Dulux Cabinetry Colours

Hey you! Thanks for joining us for our July monthly journal. Whether you're in lockdown or not, this journal will add some colour to your day! So keep on reading to find out more about the introduction of Dulux colours to our cabinetry range.

We are super excited to announce that you can now get our Vanity by Design cabinets painted in ANY DULUX COLOUR!

We have worked extremely hard to keep up with the current colour trends here, and wow! The colour choices are endless. So we thought why not make this an option for our customers to choose and personalise themselves! There are infinite possible colour combinations… so we put them to the test ourselves!

We recently had two of our Hayley cabinets (defs one of our favourite designs! Click here to view the Hayley range) painted by our local 2 pac painter here in Brisbane, and absolutely loved the results. We chose two colours that we adore and are in trend now, Pale Sage and Angry Ocean.

A bit about Pale Sage:
Creating a peaceful and relaxed setting within your space. Warm or cool depending on the undertones - a very versatile colour.

A bit about Angry Ocean:
A deep green tone which makes for a dramatic statement piece, evoking memories of forest canopies and driving through deep green fields.

So, how do you select the right cabinetry colour for your bathroom?! When it comes to choosing the colour cabinetry for your bathroom, there is a lot to think about. Honestly the hardest part is choosing the colour, THE REST IS ON US! So, here are a few tips to help you out.

Temperature – You’re either wanting to turn up the temperature, or tone it down in your space. It’s up to you whether you want the piece to provide a warm feel or to be a strong focus. Your warm colours are your yellows, reds and oranges - these remind us of hot summer days. Cool colours are your blues, greens and purples, producing a cool feeling when pictured, these remind you of the forest or the ocean.

Tone – The lightness or darkness in a colour. Adding black will darken the tone and adding white will lighten the tone. Lighter tones will help make the space feel larger, whilst darker tones will throw off different types of moods.

Lighting – Natural lighting in your space - BIG yes! Natural light impacts the way you see the colour in your space. This is an important point to take into consideration when choosing the colour for your cabinetry as light and bright rooms generally mean natural light. Naturally lighter rooms perfectly suit grey, white and neutral colours. For darker rooms, think more of a warmer toned white- this will brighten up the room.

Chroma – for bold and colourful spaces. If you want your room to pop, then go for something bright and bold, step outside your comfort zone! If you decide to go with bold for your cabinetry, remember this will be the feature of the bathroom. Pair the vanity with neutral floor and wall tiles- or bright and courageous colours - it is YOUR bathroom after all, go wild!

A few more elements to think about. Your overall space, which style are you wanting to implement? Are you wanting traditional, boho or modern?  Take note of the other colours that will feature in the space. Such as floor tiles, wall tiles and tap ware finishes. If your bathroom lacks light, maybe think about adding a pop of colour to brighten it up, we are loving greens and blues! Source samples of these colours, this will give you a better idea of the colour in real life - this will make the decision making a lot easier!

Keep in mind your bathroom cabinet says a lot about the space, make sure this compliments your own PERSONAL STYLE and personality as well as the overall home. From white to dark navy, whatever you choose, remember this is your space so make it enjoyable and fun!
